Increase your safety out on the water with smart satellite technology
SPOT Gen4 gives you a critical, life-saving line of communication when you travel beyond the boundaries of reliable cellular service, whether out on the water or elsewhere. This is a really useful piece of smart technology that we believe every sailor should have – whether they go out on solo adventures or with others.
SPOT Gen4 lets family, friends, and colleagues know you are OK, or if the unexpected should happen, sends your GPS location to emergency responders, all with the push of a button. A SPOT service subscription is required to activate all SPOT devices and once set up this piece of smart technology has a wide range of really useful features.
With the push of a button, GEOS International Emergency Response Coordination Center provides your GPS coordinates and information to local response teams – for example, contacting 999 responders in the UK, 911 responders in North America and 112 responders in Europe. The S.O.S. button is for emergencies only.
Additionally, you can send a pre-programmed text message or an email with GPS coordinates to up to 10 contacts with your location. Your waypoint is stored in your SPOT account for later reference and your stored waypoints can be easily integrated into a shared view or SPOT Adventures account.
You can also set up custom messages before your next adventure to send to your list of pre-determined contacts. Use this feature as a secondary OK message for peace of mind.

Smart technology for anti-theft tracking
The SPOT Trace offers advanced theft-alert tracking for anything. As with the SPOT GEN4, this device requires a SPOT service subscription to activate the device, and once you do, you’ll be able to use all of the exciting features it has.
Instantly receive a text or email when your most valuable assets move, or follow them on Google Maps anytime on your phone or computer. Custom tracking options allow you to select the rate at which updates are sent every 2½, 5, 10, 30 or 60 minutes.
This technology means you can configure SPOT Trace to track an asset that is primarily stored on the water. You can also receive notifications for the following situations:
- Receive a notification if SPOT Trace is powered off.
- Receive a notification when SPOT Trace’s batteries are low.
- Receive a daily alert to let you know your asset is secure.
SPOT Trace offers affordable and practical advanced asset tracking capability. This easy-to-use device instantly alerts you via text or email when your most valuable assets are on the move – whether they’re supposed to be or not.
