Remove old antifouling, paint, varnish and wood stain with Owatrol Marine Strip Paint and Antifouling Remover, 1 Litre. Developed specifically for marine maintenance and restoration, this powerful water-based gel softens multiple coating layers so they can be removed with less scraping and surface damage.
Owatrol Marine Strip can remove up to eight coats in a single application, depending on the type, age and thickness of the existing finish. Its extended active working time allows the product to penetrate several layers before removal.
The thick gel consistency clings to vertical surfaces without excessive dripping or running. This makes it particularly useful for boat hulls, transoms, handrails, fittings and detailed areas where conventional liquid paint removers can be difficult to control.
Once the coating has softened, Marine Strip can be removed using fresh water and a stiff synthetic brush. A suitable pressure washer may also be used where the underlying surface can safely withstand it.
The water-soluble formulation is solvent-free, VOC-free and non-flammable. Tools and application equipment can be cleaned using water after use.
Marine Strip is suitable for many common boat surfaces, including GRP, sound gelcoat, plastic, wood and compatible metals. It is ideal for removing old antifouling from GRP hulls, stripping peeling varnish from handrails and preparing compatible surfaces for repainting or refinishing.
Always test the product on a small, discreet area before treating the full surface. The required contact time will vary depending on the coating, number of layers, temperature and substrate.

I haven’t used this item as yet but it is a well known product and on reading various ‘boatie’ forums it should work well
